About us

The Armenian Professional Society of Canada is a group of dedicated volunteers united by the idea of encouraging professional development and attainment of higher professional education amongst Armenians. It was established in December 2010 by a group of Toronto Armenian professionals in order to enhance professional development opportunities in highly competitive fields. We unite members from across Canada and some Canadian-Armenians abroad.

Our members are Canadian-Armenian professionals, i.e. those in intellectual fields of work (e.g. doctors, lawyers, accountants, engineers, architects, teachers, IT and healthcare specialists, professionals in business, finance, economics, accounting, management, etc.). Most of them have a graduate (e.g., M.Sc, MBA, M. Arch, etc.) or professional (MD, DDS, P.Eng, etc) degree and/or significant work experience, certification or licensure, or other similar recognition in Canada.

We have 6 professional groups: Medicine and Healthcare, Business and Finance, Engineering and Architecture, IT, Law, and Social Sciences. Some of the groups have a coordinator.

We currently have 74 members, who serve as mentors. To date, we have assisted 121 applicants (mentees), and 11 applicants with non-professional inquiries. Amongst these, there have been 13 Syrian refugees, who have recently arrived in Canada. Fifteen of our former mentees have already become mentors. Our entire network of mentors and mentees unites 160 Canadian-Armenian professionals.
